Elif Kocabıyık completed her graduate studies in textile engineering at Ege University (2000), and her master's and doctorate degrees in industrial design at Izmir Institute of Technology (2004) and Istanbul Technical University (2012). She has been working as a lecturer at the Department of Industrial Design at Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Fine Arts and Design since 2005. Her research interests include design history and culture, design research methods, and basic design. She examines everyday objects, especially packaging, from the perspective of design evolution. Since 2016, she has been the Head of the Industrial Designers’ Society (ETMK) of Izmir Branch. In 2019, she was appointed as the Design Coordinator of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mediterranean Academy. Between the years of 2017-2019, she was the contact person of the World Design Organization.
